China External Fire Testing Machine - Customizable Test Room Safety Protection Manufacturer, Suppliers
The external fire test machine for battery packs simulates the situation where the surface temperature of the battery pack or system suddenly rises when the electric vehicle passes through high-temperature or flame prone ground after the battery pack or system is installed on the electric vehicle. It observes various possible conditions that may occur due to the sudden temperature rise of the battery pack or system in a short period of time. Belonging to specialized testing instruments for power battery packs or system safety testing.
This battery pack fire test bench consists of an oil source, a test bench, an oil pan, a cover plate, refractory bricks, a water system, an oil system, an ignition system, a control system, a safety protection system, and more.
Test Step
3.1The test object is the battery pack or system.
3.2During the test, the size of the flat plate containing gasoline should exceed the horizontal dimension of the test object by 20cm but not exceed 50cm. The height of the flat plate should not exceed 8cm above the surface of the gasoline. The distance between the gasoline level and the test object is set to 50cm, or to the height of the bottom of the test object above the ground when the vehicle is unloaded. Inject water into the bottom of the flat plate.
3.3Ignite gasoline at least 3 meters from the equipment, preheat for 60 seconds, and place the oil pan under the tested equipment.
3.4Test object directly exposed to flame for 70 seconds.
3.5Cover the oil pan with the cover plate. The test object is tested for 60 seconds in this state, or continues to be directly exposed to the flame for another 60 seconds upon agreement.
3.6Remove the oil pan and observe for 2 hours.
3.7Requirement: There should be no explosion in the battery pack or system. If there is a flame, it should be extinguished within 2 minutes after the fire source is removed.
Test Standard
UL 1973-2022 Safety Standard for Energy Storage Battery Systems
Q: What safety standards does the fire test bench comply with?A: The equipment is designed to meet UL 1973-2022 and ECE R100 standards for battery system safety testing.
Q: What is the maximum load capacity for battery packs?A: The standard test bench supports a load-bearing capacity of up to 1500kg, making it suitable for large energy storage battery packs.
Q: How is the combustion process monitored safely?A: It features remote computer control and a high-definition video surveillance system (1080P) so operators can monitor the test from a safe distance.
Q: Can the combustion height be adjusted?A: Yes, the distance from the bottom of the battery pack to the oil level can be manually adjusted between 300mm and 700mm.
Q: What are the pass criteria for the battery fire test?A: There must be no explosion. Any flames present must extinguish automatically within 2 minutes after the external fire source is removed.
Q: Is the size of the test bench customizable?A: Yes, the test room, mobile rack, and overall dimensions can be customized to meet specific project requirements.
